The gun was made for William R. Asprey, son of chairman Asprey. William went on to found and chair William & Son, the successor to the Asprey gun making business. Exquisitely engraved by Alan Portsmouth with large acanthus scroll and game scene vignettes. Partridge on the right, grouse on the left, a flushing woodcock on the underside, a ring-necked pheasant rooster on the trigger guard, and the top lever features an engraved dog head. Barrels by Michael Kelly, cocking and ejectors by Gary Pymont, stocked by Christpher Whaley, actioned by John Craven and Mark Sullivan, finished by Colin Orchard, and case by Graham Howarth. Coin finished action and furniture. Exhibition grade walnut stock. Stock shows minor scratches consistent with light field use. Pristine bores and excellent bluing on barrels. Clean and crisp checkering. Top lever right of center, slightly off face with no movement against the action, and the ejectors are in time.
