A heritage cased Purdey side by side 12 bore self-opening ejector gun with 28” barrels and an extra pair of 28” barrels. Both barrels come with a Churchill style solid matted rib. First set of barrels are choked improved cylinder and improved cylinder and the second set of barrels, marked with a gold inlaid star on the rib, are choked modified and full. 16 ¾” length of pull over a checkered butt.
Prince of Wales stock with a metal grip cap, single trigger on a square bar action, auto-safety, traditional Purdey safety catch, gold inlaid “SAFE” ahead of the safety catch, raised line silver cocking indicators, and initialed gold oval. Circa 1964 gun with 2 3/4" chambers in both barrels.
Fine house rose and scroll engraving. Case color hardened action and blued furniture. Some colors remaining on the left side but silvered on the right and underside. Excellent bores and some wear to the bluing on barrels with a couple of scratches and wear along where the beavertail forearm meets the barrels. Well figured darker walnut stock, forearm, and checkering in near perfect condition. The gun was actioned by Peter Nelson. Top lever slightly left of center, on face, and ejectors in time.
