Stephen Grant & Sons 12 bore side lever hammerless ejector gun with 30” Damascus barrels that have been sleeved with fluid steel tubes. The gun comes installed with Briley thin wall chokes. Length of pull of 14 15/16”to a leather covered pad.
Straight English stock, double triggers on a square bar action with 7-pin locks, auto safety, removable striker discs, slightly raised smooth concave rib, gold inlaid “SAFE” ahead of the safety catch, drop points, checkered wrist and forend with mullered borders, fluted fences, and an engraved gold oval on the toe line. Gun 1 of a pair with “1” engraved on the top rib, bottom strap, and the inside of the forend iron. Circa 1904 gun with sleeved barrels and reproofed in London in 1989 with 2 ¾” chambers.
Engraved with small scroll. Case color hardened action and blued furniture. The action has silvered. Very good overall condition. Both the fiddleback exhibition grade walnut stock and checkering in excellent condition as refinished. The forend has a couple of inlet repairs and there is an inlet repair to the bottom left horn as well. A small crack present on the bottom right horn. The leather on the pad is worn. Excellent bores and bluing on barrels with visible sleeve lines. Bluing on the bottom strap beginning to silver. The gun is slightly off face with the right ejector not functioning and the left ejector kicking live.
