Used Stephen Grant 12 bore side lever hammer game gun with 30” Damascus barrels. Choked skeet and cylinder. Length of pull of 14 1/8” to a checkered butt with engraved heel and toe clips.
Straight English stock, double triggers on a round bar action with backaction locks, rebounding hammers, springed nipples, extractor, slightly raised concave rib with a small brass front bead, checkered wrist (wraparound) and forend with mullered borders, Anson push button forend release, engraved gold oval on the toe line, heel clip with a widow’s peak. Number “2” engraved on the barrels, bottom strap, and forend iron. Circa late 1870s gun was reproofed in London in 1993 with 2 ½” chambers. The chambers measure 2 ¾”.
Small scroll engraving embellishes the silvered action and blued furniture. Exhibition grade walnut stock. The gun remains in excellent overall condition. The stock and checkering remain near perfect as refinished. Excellent bores and browning on the Damascus barrels though not much pattern visible. The gun is on face.
