Cased E.J. Churchill 12 bore pigeon gun with 32” barrels. The gun is choked full in both barrels. Length of pull of 15” to a leather covered pad.
Straight hand grip, double triggers on a boxlock action, Doll’s head third bite, auto-safety, ejectors, gold inlaid “SAFE” ahead of the small button style safety catch, top lever, slightly raised matted concave rib with single front brass bead, checkered wrist and splinter forend with mullered borders, and an Anson push button forend release. The gun is housed in a modern hard plastic case. This circa mid-1920s gun was proofed in London for 1 ½ oz loads with 3” chambers. Chambers measure 3”.
Adorned with scroll engraving with maker’s name in banners on both sides. Silvered action and blued furniture. Well figured walnut stock with some fiddleback. Excellent overall condition. Very good bores with minor frosting and excellent bluing on barrels. Some silvering under the forend and minor rub marks on the barrels. Some wear to the leather covered pad. The wood and checkering in excellent condition with minor scratches and compression marks. Top lever slightly right of center, the gun remains on face, and ejectors in time.
